Audible Devices - Back-Up or Motion Alarms:
Back-up alarms and motion alarms are audio device accessories which produce enough sound so that the sound is heard overtop the noises produced from the forklift itself.
The sound produced by the audio device should be discernible from other audible devices or sounds from the work environment. The sound should also be different from the other sound or audible devices within the work area. The audible device could employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; thus, care must be taken.
Determine the distance and direction the sound of the audible device is made harder due to the use of hearing protection. Audible devices can occasionally get deactivated from both operators and workers because they could find them irritating. In addition, audible devices may also be objectionable to nearby residents.

Enclosed Operator Cabs: To protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are utilized to help avoid injuries and lessen other concerns.
