Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They can run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous uses. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
In order to prevent possible serious injury, specific safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
