Reach Truck
A reach truck is utilized to store supplies, pallets of goods, and to keep storage places tidy. The reach truck comes in quite a few kinds: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide beneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is like the stand-up, is commonly utilized. This model consists of telescopic forks designed to position the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet has to go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides as well. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This particular version is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Often more than one kind of reach truck is required in warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and can increase production while maximizing available storage space.
