Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the right answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles that could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely handy pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
