Inventor Jerome Case founded the business of CASE within Racine, when he began the building of threshing machinery. Later the business gained recognition internationally as the initial maker of steam engines for its agricultural application. Eventually, the business grew to become the world's biggest maker of steam engines.
By the year 1912, Case had become established in the construction equipment business. The quickly started to make road building equipment like steam rollers and graders. Case grew their construction equipment business through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation in 1957. Case had expanded their business by the middle part of the 1990s to become the top producer of light-sized to medium-sized construction machines.
Case merged with the corporation New Holland during the year 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This business became responsible for advertising several of the leading brands of agricultural and construction machinery in the world.
